Dr. Gordon Rausser

Gordon Rausser, the Robert Gordon Sproul Distinguished Professor Emeriti at the University of California, Berkeley, is a distinguished academic and researcher with a wealth of leadership experience. Serving as chair of his academic department on three separate occasions and as Dean of the College of Natural Resources for six years. A recognized expert in his field, Rausser has earned the distinction of being elected a Fellow of prestigious professional associations, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Statistical Association, and the Agriculture and Applied Economics Association. His innovative research has garnered widespread acclaim, resulting in 34 research and instructional awards.
Beyond academia, Dr. Rausser has contributed significantly to government service, spending two years as a senior economist with the Council of Economic Advisors and two years as Chief Economist at the Agency of International Development, U.S. State Department. His multifaceted career includes a keen entrepreneurial spirit, as evidenced by his involvement on 22 Boards of Directors for both private and public companies. Additionally, Rausser co-founded two private companies that successfully went public, showcasing his ability to bridge academia and industry.
